Install Grax manually
- Download and extract the ZIP.
- Open
chrome://extensions. - Enable Developer mode.
- Select Load unpacked.
- Choose the extracted folder that contains
manifest.json.
The download is a clean Grax 1.6.0 extension package. You can verify it with the SHA-256 file beside the ZIP in the downloads directory.
The Chrome Web Store release is being prepared. The website intentionally does not distribute a mismatched self-signed CRX.
When a website looks broken
Open the Grax popup and use Compatibility reload. This pauses protection only on that tab for five minutes and reloads the page without permanently trusting the website.
Temporary pause
Use the 5, 15, or 30-minute controls when a site needs a short native session. Protection resumes automatically, or you can select Resume now.
Report a broken website privately
Open Diagnostics from the popup, refresh the activity, and select Create report. The report stays local until you choose to share it and excludes page text, passwords, forms, identity documents, paths, and query strings.
Hide a page element
Select Hide an element, point at the unwanted element, and click. Use Undo hide to restore it. This is temporary and clears on reload.
Back up settings
The Options page can export and import a versioned JSON configuration containing your settings, trusted sites, and custom blocked domains.
Fast troubleshooting
- Reload the extension from
chrome://extensionsafter updating an unpacked build. - Use Ctrl + F5 after the website is redeployed.
- Keep only one Grax build installed while testing.
- Do not install the rejected v1.5.5 CRX.
